Zenzo Connect -- Ad Content Policies for Sponsors and Ad Creators
Effective Date: January 1, 2025
Zenzo Connect gives sponsors, brands, and community advertisers a direct line to immigrant and diaspora audiences. These Ad Content Policies ("Policies") explain what may and may not appear in any advertisement, sponsored post, boosted content, banner, or branded placement on Zenzo Connect.
These Policies apply to everyone who creates, funds, or approves an ad — sponsors, agencies, ad creators, and business account admins. They apply in addition to our Business & Advertising Terms, Community Guidelines, Commercial Use Terms, and Terms of Service.
1. Who These Policies Cover
You are covered by these Policies if you:
-
Pay to run, boost, or sponsor any content on Zenzo Connect
-
Create ad copy, images, audio, or video used in a Zenzo placement
-
Sponsor an event, group, newsletter, or community page
-
Act on behalf of a brand, institution, agency, or nonprofit
The sponsor funding an ad and the creator who made it are both responsible for its content.
2. Core Standards for All Ad Content
Every ad must be:
-
Truthful --- claims must be accurate and provable on request
-
Clear --- pricing, conditions, deadlines, and eligibility stated plainly
-
Respectful --- no content that demeans a nationality, ethnicity, faith, immigration status, gender, disability, or sexual orientation
-
Legal --- compliant with the laws of every country the ad targets
-
Identifiable --- the advertiser's real business or organization name must be visible
Examples of acceptable ads:
-
"Free tax clinic for new arrivals --- Saturday 10am, Lowell Public Library. Bring your ITIN letter."
-
"Kigali-style catering for weddings and graduations. Menus from $18 per plate. Serving Greater Toronto."
Examples of disallowed ads:
-
"Approved immigration lawyer --- 100% visa success rate."
-
"Send $200 today and double your money in one week."
3. Prohibited Ad Content
The following may never be advertised or promoted on Zenzo Connect:
-
Guaranteed immigration, visa, asylum, or citizenship outcomes
-
Unlicensed legal, medical, or financial advice presented as professional service
-
Loans, remittance schemes, or investments with hidden fees, unclear terms, or "guaranteed" returns
-
Crypto giveaways, pyramid schemes, multi-level recruitment, and get-rich-quick offers
-
Weapons, illegal drugs, counterfeit goods, or stolen documents
-
Sexual services, adult content, and sexualized imagery of any kind
-
Unapproved health cures, weight-loss miracles, or fertility claims
-
Hateful, violent, or politically inflammatory messaging targeting a community
-
Content that exploits fear about deportation, raids, or immigration enforcement to sell a product
4. Restricted Categories (Review Required)
Ads in these categories are allowed only after review and, where relevant, proof of licensing:
-
Immigration and legal services --- bar number or accreditation required
-
Health, wellness, and mental-health services --- practitioner credentials required
-
Financial services, remittances, insurance, and lending --- regulator registration required
-
Housing, employment, and education offers --- must comply with anti-discrimination law
-
Alcohol, gambling, and age-restricted goods --- must be age-gated and legal in the target region
-
Political, civic, or election-related messaging --- must disclose who paid for the ad
Example: A licensed immigration attorney may advertise consultations, but may not promise results. A remittance startup may advertise transfer fees, but must show the true rate and any charges.
5. Honesty in Creative and Media
Ad creators must not:
-
Use before-and-after images that misrepresent a typical result
-
Use photos of people, businesses, or events without permission
-
Imply endorsement by Zenzo Connect, a government body, an embassy, or a community leader without written consent
-
Copy another business's branding, logo, menu, or photography
-
Use music, footage, or artwork without a license (see our Music Usage Policy)
AI-generated creative is permitted, but must not depict real people saying or doing things they did not do, and must not be presented as documentary footage or authentic testimony.
6. Disclosure and Labeling
-
Paid placements are labeled Sponsored or Ad by Zenzo; do not hide, crop, or obscure that label
-
Influencers and creators posting paid content must disclose the partnership in the post itself
-
Testimonials must be from real customers, and compensated testimonials must say so
-
Limited-time offers must state the real end date
7. Targeting Fairness
Sponsors may target ads by location, language, interest, and community affiliation to reach relevant audiences. Sponsors may not:
-
Exclude or include audiences based on protected characteristics in housing, employment, credit, or education ads
-
Target minors with age-restricted products
-
Use targeting to intimidate, profile, or single out a vulnerable group
Example: You may target "Swahili speakers in Dallas" for a language school. You may not target "non-refugees only" for an apartment listing.
8. Data and Landing Pages
-
Landing pages must match the offer in the ad and load without deceptive redirects
-
Any data you collect requires clear consent and a visible privacy notice
-
You may not sell, rent, or re-target data gathered through a Zenzo ad outside the stated purpose
-
No malware, forced downloads, subscription traps, or hidden auto-renewals
9. Review, Rejection, and Enforcement
Zenzo Connect may:
-
Review, pause, reject, or remove any ad before or after it goes live
-
Request licensing, ownership, or claim substantiation from a sponsor
-
Withhold delivery of an ad that harms community trust, even where no law is broken
Enforcement escalates with severity: first a warning and edit request, then ad removal, then suspension of the ad account, and finally permanent loss of advertising access. Deceptive immigration, financial, or health claims may result in immediate permanent removal.
Rejected ads are not automatically refunded; see our Payment Terms.
10. Appeals
If your ad was rejected and you believe it complies with these Policies, email Support@zenzoconnect.com with the ad ID and any supporting documentation. We aim to respond to appeals within five business days.
11. Contact
Questions before you build a campaign? Email Support@zenzoconnect.com or open Business Settings in the app. We would rather help you fix an ad before launch than take it down afterwards.
Advertising on Zenzo Connect is a privilege built on community trust. Ads that inform, uplift, and serve immigrant audiences honestly will always find a home here.
