Zenzo Connect -- Business & Advertising Terms
Effective Date: January 1, 2025
Zenzo Connect empowers immigrants and diaspora communities to grow and promote their businesses, services, and ideas. These Business & Advertising Terms ("Terms") apply to all users who advertise, promote, or operate any business or service through the Zenzo Connect App.
By using Zenzo Connect for commercial or advertising purposes, you agree to follow these Terms in addition to our Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, and Commercial Use Terms.
1. Who Can Use Business & Advertising Tools
If you use Zenzo to:
-
Promote a product or service (e.g., selling food, offering tutoring, or doing hair)
-
Represent an organization (e.g., a church, nonprofit, or community group)
-
Run paid ads or boost posts
Then you are considered a business user under these Terms.
2. Ad Content Must Be Truthful and Safe
All ads, sponsored posts, and promotions must:
-
Be honest about what you're offering (no exaggerated claims)
-
Clearly state prices, terms, and limitations if applicable
-
Avoid content that is misleading, offensive, violent, discriminatory, or illegal
Examples of acceptable ads:
-
"Get your braids done for $60 this weekend only -- Located in Lowell, MA."
-
"Now enrolling for Swahili weekend classes. Children ages 5--12. Call us today!"
Examples of disallowed ads:
-
"Guaranteed U.S. citizenship in 30 days!"
-
"Lose 20kg in one week with this herbal mix (no FDA approval)."
3. Targeting and Data Use
Zenzo may use your ad preferences, budget, and audience criteria (such as location, age, and interests) to help deliver your ad to the right people. You may not:
-
Use Zenzo ads to collect personal information without clear consent
-
Share or sell customer data obtained through ads or promoted posts
-
Misuse targeting tools to discriminate (e.g., "only for Christian immigrants" or "no refugees")
Example: You can target an ad to "Ghanaian professionals in New York" if you're offering culturally relevant tax services, but you cannot exclude users based on protected characteristics.
4. Payments and Cancellations
-
If you pay to boost a post or run an ad, you agree to the posted rates.
-
Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise specified in writing.
-
If your payment fails, we may suspend your promotion or restrict your business access.
5. Our Right to Review and Remove
Zenzo reserves the right to:
-
Review, reject, or remove any ad or promotional content at any time
-
Disable or limit business accounts that violate these Terms
-
Require identity verification for business users in high-risk categories (e.g., immigration help, health services, financial services)
6. Keep It Local, Honest, and Helpful
Zenzo is built to uplift immigrant entrepreneurs, community leaders, and small business owners --- not to exploit vulnerable users. We encourage authentic, community-driven advertising.
Examples of great business use:
-
A Rwandan-owned daycare posting open spots for the fall
-
A Jamaican food vendor posting weekly menus and pickup locations
-
A Congolese gospel artist promoting their new album
