Zenzo Connect -- Goods Marketing Guidelines
Effective Date: January 1, 2025
Zenzo Connect gives immigrants and diaspora communities a space to support one another through commerce --- whether you're selling handmade crafts, offering services, or running a family business. To keep the platform trustworthy and safe, these guidelines apply to all users who list goods or services on Zenzo Connect.
By posting listings, you agree to follow these guidelines in addition to our Community Guidelines and Business & Advertising Terms.
1. What You Can List
You may post goods or services that are:
-
Legal and permitted in your country and region
-
Owned by you or you're authorized to sell
-
Clearly described, with accurate pricing, availability, and terms
Examples of allowed listings:
-
A Congolese seamstress listing custom dresses for sale
-
A Haitian chef selling weekend meal plates from home
-
A Nigerian mechanic offering mobile car repair services in the Bronx
-
A Ugandan artist promoting handmade jewelry with delivery options
2. What You Cannot List
For the safety of our users, the following are not allowed on Zenzo Connect:
-
Weapons, firearms, or explosives
-
Prescription medications or unapproved herbal remedies making health claims
-
Counterfeit goods (e.g., fake designer items)
-
Adult services or sexually explicit material
-
Fraudulent items or services (e.g., fake visas, ID cards, degrees)
-
Live animals (except through approved pet adoption partners)
Example: You may promote a cultural health tea, but you may not claim it "cures diabetes in 5 days."
3. Listing Requirements
To build trust and help users make informed decisions, all listings must include:
-
Clear photos of the product or service
-
Accurate descriptions (what it is, condition, size, etc.)
-
Location and availability (e.g., "Pickup in Worcester" or "Available on weekends")
-
Real pricing --- avoid "DM for price" in the title unless the post clearly explains it
Example: Instead of "DM for info," say: "Kids' hair braiding -- $40 -- Bookings open Saturday--Sunday only."
4. Service Listings Must Be Transparent
If you're offering a service, you must:
-
Clearly state what the service includes (e.g., "Deep house cleaning -- includes floors, kitchen, and bathroom")
-
Indicate how people can book or contact you (e.g., phone, WhatsApp, email)
-
Mention any deposit or cancellation policy, if applicable
Example: A Rwandan photographer posting, "Event packages from $150 -- includes 2-hour shoot and 20 edited photos. 20% deposit required."
5. No Spam or Duplicate Listings
Do not post:
-
The same item or service repeatedly in short intervals
-
Irrelevant or misleading keywords just to get more views
-
Listings in unrelated categories
6. Respect Buyers and the Community
-
Respond to inquiries respectfully and on time
-
Don't harass users to buy or leave fake reviews
-
Honor your posted prices and deals
-
Report suspicious activity instead of engaging in disputes
7. Enforcement and Removal
Zenzo reserves the right to:
-
Remove listings that violate these rules
-
Suspend or ban users for repeated violations
-
Verify seller identity or product legitimacy in high-risk categories
8. Build Community Through Commerce
Zenzo Connect was made to empower immigrant communities through shared culture, opportunity, and trust. Selling your goods and services here isn't just business --- it's a way to support one another.
Let's grow together, honestly and respectfully.
